GET UP TO A 100% RETURN ON INVESTMENT WITH FISH FARMING PARTNERSHIP

CHALLENGES IN FISH PRODUCTION FOR STARTERS
The 2 major challenges that set back intending farmers from production includes
1. Lack of fund : Fish farming is capital intensive, this deters most farmers from venturing into it. Land acquisition, pond digging and set up, bore-hole and some other pond facilities can be expensive.
2. Lack of technical ability : Fish farming is one of he few lines of animal production that requires detail technical skills before it can be ventured into. An attempt to run into the business without proper background knowledge and technical know-how could cause a farmer total loss.
To sort this, a farmer would either want to either hire an expert in setting up the business or partner with an already established/experience farm/Farmer.

HONOURABLE FARMS PARTNERSHIP PROPOSAL
Honourable Farms is expanding its production capacity on Catfish, and it is inviting interested individuals who has the financial capacity to invest in farming but lacks the technical ability, time and other parameters to initiate the managerial process.

REASONS FOR PARTNERSHIP
(1)  To meet up with the financial requirements for producing maximum production on our fishery section.
(2)  To reduce the cost of running the farm by maximizing the potential available land for fish production.
(3)  To maximise the production capacity  and reduce the cost of production per pond
(4)  To increase the production strength and capacity for optimum growth and development of our farm establishment
(5)  To gain more ground in the local market by increasing supply which increases our farm relevance to big buyers of catfish nationwide.
(6)  To create higher financial independence for the working class who are interested in promoting food security but with limited time and resources.
(7)  To achieve an all year production system where our buyers will have maximum guarantee on us supplying their needs all through the year.

RETURN ON INVESTMENT
Investors should note that it is not mandatory to invest on a whole pond. The return of investment for investors is between 40-100% of capital investment, depending on the duration of the investment period. The longer the duration of investment, the more is the marginal return of investment. The minimum duration of investment is however 6 months and a maximum of one year for a 100% return of investment

HOW AGRIBUSINESS DIFFERS FROM THE CONVENTIONAL BUSINESS

Agribusiness is the business of agricultural production, an industry engaged in the producing operations of a farm, the manufacture and distribution of farm equipment and supplies, and the processing, storage, and distribution of farm commodities. The term was coined in 1957 by Goldberg and Davis. It includes agrichemicals, breeding , crop production ( farming and contract farming ), distribution, farm machinery ,processing, and seed supply, as well as marketing and retail sales. All agents of the food and fiber value chain and those institutions that influence it are part of the agribusiness system. Examples of Agribusiness Companies Deere & Company, which makes John Deere equipment, may be one of the best-known examples of a classic agribusiness company. The firm doesn't own farms or produce food products, but nearly every farmer owns a John Deere tractor, baler or some other piece of the quintessential green and gold farm equipment. Monsanto Company, which manufacture

The Hydroponics; Farming business made easy.

Hydroponics Hydroponics is a subset of hydroculture, the method of growing plants without soil, using mineral nutrient solutions in a water solvent. Terrestrial plants may be grown with only their roots exposed to the mineral solution, or the roots may be supported by an inert medium, such as perlite or gravel . The nutrients in hydroponics can come from an array of different sources; these can include but are not limited to byproduct from fish waste, duck manure, or normal nutrients. Hydroponics systems are various structures (e.g., towers, trays, A-frames) that hold water or other inert media and provide places to grow plants. Hydroponics systems fall into two basic categories: a solution (liquid) culture and an aggregate culture. In a solution system, the plant roots grow directly into a nutrient-filled solution. In an aggregate system, such as gravel, sand, or small clay pellets, the roots grow into the medium. In each method, the system supplies the three essential ingredient

Meet the Dreaded Pest Quelea quelea, the Most Populous and Destructive Bird Species on Earth.

Couple of weeks back, precisely December 9th, 2017, I saw a news headline "FG begins aerial spray against Quelea birds, other pests in Bauchi"  It was the first time I am reading such headline, I was able to isolate and interpret what “ pest” and aerial spray” is, but I had no idea what  Quelea is, also I have not heard of aerial spray as mode of combating pest in Nigeria prior that time. So I promised to embark on a research into the new “ guy” Quelea compelling us to bring out agricultural fighter chopers/ jets. In my mind, I thought its another stronger novel pest, evolving from an older specie we already know, like the case of the fall army warm we had to deal with in 2017. I was wrong, Quelea is not new, as a matter of fact it has been described as far back as 1758 by Linnaeus and its preferred locality being  India, this was however corrected to Senegal by Scater.  Reichenbach in 1950 gave the bird the generic name Quelea. Quelea is the most numerous bird
